Photos from Green Bay Day 1

I landed in Milwaukee Friday Afternoon and was met at the airport by My Good Friend Julee. My first thoughts as we drove through the beautiful country side was that I wasn't in "Kansas" I mean AZ anymore. It's so green and the fall colors were amazing. Dotting the country side were farms and dairy farms.
Years ago, I stopped taking a lot of pictures of places because pictures just never did the area I was photographing  justice. Well, they still don't, but I took pictures anyway. I'll have to think about labeling my photos... Desert / WI... you know. The yellows and rust colored leaves literally took my breath away. In all honesty I was still slightly relaxed from the "get on that airplane pills I took" so I'd forgotten some of this until downloading photos yesterday.

Ok, so I'm guilty of a great deal of LACK of knowledge about my own country's geography and didn't realize Green Bay sat next to Lake Michigan. AND that there's actually a BAY at Green Bay. MY BAD. This was a shot over a bridge we went over often during my week in Green Bay; the Bridge crossed the Fox River which separates Green Bay - West Side / East Side. This is a Marina... Who KNEW... I mostly sat in the car and smiled or talked so I would be horribly lost if I tried to execute the city roads on my own.  Kind of reminds me of the time, in RENO, when the bell hop asked if it was my first time in the big city!

Green Bay is a one of a kind town. Tailgating in Green Bay takes on an entirely new meaning for me. The whole town does it.. More about that in a future post.  I have several photos of these signs, included in my collection of  over 1300 photos taken last week. MANY duplicates.. I'll worry about that another day. Julee gave me a quick tour of Green Bay when we got to town, before going to her house. Like I said, I'd still be lost if I tried driving anywhere alone. It's an amazing town and when I remember the population of Green Bay is about the same size as my home town of Murrieta AND the Packer Fans from this town support an entire pro football team.. Well, it's great. Anyway, More tomorrow.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog today

Well, I have never been tailgating before that I can remember. I know what you mean about the "Not in Kansas" feeling. The first time I flew to Arizona and we were landing, I thought..."Where am I" I had never been to a place that had so many brown mountains and so little greenery. But once I got used to it I thought it was so beautiful in the desert.

I never been tailgating either, you figure with the Cardinal Stadium (Notice I call it Cardinal Stadium)pretty much around the corner from me I should try it at least once. Specially this year when it seems they have potential to go far.

Hey I enjoyed the photos and you sound like me, 1300 photos for one week, hahaha!! You and I probably spend tons of time deleting photos at night when we would rather be doing something else.

:) Yes Sandy I am LEARNING to delete photos. Sort of

Right ON Jose! I call it the Glendale Stadium OR Cardinal Stadium

I am the same, not knowing the nearby geography, this combined with bad sense of direction is a recipe for either disaster or a marvellous adventure (!) but I like to think I have alternative skills...

It's great to hear you're having such a good time! I've never been to Green Bay & had no idea if it was a Bay or not, but thanks for filling me in! hehehe!
From what I've heard, "support your football team" really does take on a whole new meaning there though!!!

J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets Jets! Oh wait, I forgot, you went to Green Bay...not to see Brett Favre...The traitor. Just kidding! We loved Green Bay too! Did you see the house painted yellow and green with the big G (Packer emblem) on the front of it. I think I have a picture of it somewhere. Anyway, glad you had fun, and glad you came back! So, when are you coming to Temecula??? It's time!

Sorry Carla, had to comment, Brett is not a traitor. It's the Packer's management that didn't let him come back. He wanted to. Can't wait for him to retire for good and right a book about the truth. But don't get me started on that. But we here still support the Packers, just NOT the management. Betty post the pics of the T-shirts we saw..lol. There are TONS of Brett-Jet fans here... :-)

LOL Carla and Julee. Actually, one of the TShirts might get me booted out of Blogger.. The other one I will. ALmost bought one for each of the kids. Thompson is on Time out for getting rid of my Brett. No matter what happens, Green Bay is Packer Fan Land! They might be mad at the management right now and that's obvious from some of the signs, but they still come out for their team... AND A Lot of #4 Brett JET Fans these days. LOL I got Paul's Brett Jet Shirt there! LOL
